A hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle and a 2004 Cadillac at Masten Avenue and Eaton Street that injured a husband and his wife on May 19 is under review by Buffalo police accident investigators.

The motorcycle driver, Vernon Walton Jr., 36, of Glenwood Avenue, and his passenger, India Walton, 30, were knocked off the cycle at about 9:50 p.m., police said, and required treatment at Erie County Medical Center. Vernon Walter was released the same night and India Walton was discharged from the hospital on May 21.

The driver of the car fled, but police, who obtained a licence plate number, quickly recovered the abandoned Cadillac on Landon Street at the registered address for the vehicle’s owner, according to Accident Investigators Martin Forero and Keith LaFalce.

The investigators Wednesday were continuing efforts to locate the car’s owner. It was unknown if the owner was driving the vehicle when the collision occurred.

Investigators have asked that any witnesses to the crash call the accident unit at 851-4537.
