ALBION – A 55-year-old New York State Thruway Authority worker was remanded Thursday to the Orleans County Jail by Albion Town Justice Gary Moore after his arrest by New York State Police investigators on a felony charge of third-degree grand larceny for alleged theft of expensive material from the highway division’s Albion Canal Maintenance Facility.

Bruce M. Rotoli, of East Lee Road, Albion, was arrested following a month-long investigation by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation after Thruway officials complained about the loss of about $5,746 worth of material from the maintenance facility. The Thruway Authority’s own Investigations Unit and Albion Village police assisted in the investigation. Rotoli was being held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
