Two Buffalo area men received special honors Wednesday at the 199th session graduation ceremony from the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy.
Trooper Carlos V. Spencer, 35, of Cheektowaga, was elected as class representative. He will be assigned to Troop D in Oneida.
Trooper Devin A. Dunn, 27, of Lancaster, won the Academic Performance Award for achieving a 98.36 average throughout the academy testing program. He will be assigned to Troop E in Canandaigua.
In all, there were 21 Western New Yorkers in the graduating class of 192. The others included Nichole M. Dioguardi of Perry, James L. Moscato of Orchard Park, Joshua D. Cross of Cassadaga, Dominic P. D’orsaneo of Kenmore, David T. Haug of North Tonawanda and Gregory J. Havas of Williamsville.
