WARSAW – A 46-year-old Silver Springs man was being held Tuesday in the Wyoming County Jail on felony drunken driving and other charges for his arrest while spotted driving erratically on State Route 19 and Broughton Road in the Town of Gainesville about 1:34 a.m. Saturday, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s office reported Tuesday.

Matthew C. Woodruff, of South Main Street, Silver Springs, refused sobriety tests after he was stopped on Broughton Road but at Wyoming County Community Hospital where he was taken for medical treatment a blood test justified his arrest on felony drunken driving and felony driving with over a 0.08 per cent blood alcohol level, according to the sheroff’s office.

He was also charged with failure to dim high beams and driving to the left of pavement markings in a no passing zone. He remained in jail after his arraignment in Middlebury Town Court and it was established he has four prior convictions for driving with alcohol, two of them felony cases. He faces further proceedings June 17 in Gainesville Town Court.
