Lockport kickboxing champion Amer Abdallah now knows who he will defend his World Kickboxing Association United States light heavyweight championship against during the main event of a 10-fight card June 8 at the Kenan Arena in Lockport.
The unbeaten 35-year-old will face Robert Katzfey of Milwaukee, Wis., in the card that begins at 7 p.m. Abdallah, who is now being promoted by Team Mesi, is 15-0 and will hold an open public workout with his trainer Jeff Mayweather at 6 p.m. June 6 at Lockport Athletic and Fitness Club, 6017 S. Transit Road. Mayweather is a former world super featherweight boxing champion and the uncle to current world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The 5-foot-9 Katzfey has a mixed martial arts background (3-3) as well as experience fighting in muay tai (10-2), according to Abdallah.
