Buffalo firefighters are expected to vote on a new contract next week. It would be their first in 12 years.

Leadership of the firefighters’ union, Local 282, and Byron W. Brown’s mayoral administration declined to comment on the details of the pact, but several sources confirmed that a tentative agreement is on the table.

The union’s membership rejected tentative contracts in 2007 and 2008, but getting a new contract in place has been a priority of the union.

Since 2001, firefighters have not received raises, except for a one-time, 5.5 percent increase in 2007.
