The No. 2-seed University at Buffalo baseball team and No. 7 Toledo combined for 22 runs on 33 hits, but it was the Rockets who pulled out a 12-10 victory against the Bulls in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Baseball Championship on Wednesday in Avon, Ohio.

The Rockets scored two runs in the top of the ninth to take the lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Bulls leadoff hitter Adam Tyson walked, but Toledo turned a double play before getting the final strikeout to end the game.

The Bulls face third-seeded Northern Illinois in an elimination game at 9 a.m. Thursday.
