Former Chief Norm Mrkall of the Grand Island Fire Company was honored for his 59 years of service, and 50-year members Ray Pauley and Jim Linenfelser were cited, as officials Tuesday honored the organization for its 75 years’ service to the community.

The company has grown into 22 pieces of apparatus, with a new Marine Unit, a high-level paramedic program and a state-of-the-art dispatch center, board Chairman Ward Butcher said.
