The Buffalo News invited school board candidates to provide a statement about why they are running for office.

I was born and raised in Western New York, graduated from Canisius College and Law School from Cleveland Marshall. I have been an attorney for the past 19 years and am presently the managing attorney at Campbell, Bolas & Associates. I belong to the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 2004, my family moved into the Williamsville School District so our son would benefit from its educational system. I believe it is important to give back to our community. As a parent and attorney it is my responsibility to share my time and life experiences to maintain and enhance our school district.

I will continue to support a safe environment whereby our students of Williamsville can take advantage of our current programs. I would also want to direct the administration to enhance offerings where and when possible. I am a strong proponent for continuing programs such as our vocal and instrumental music, the arts, middle school sports, Special Education programs, and Advance Placement courses. I also support providing up-to-date state of the art technology and enhancing our foreign language program by offering it at the elementary level.

My role in executing this will be to provide oversight as a board member of the school district and to vote to maintain our school system. I pledge to be an advocate for our students.

It is also important that we listen to the concerns of parents and the community, and then keep an open mind to make strategic choices for our district’s well being. I will request to be the Board’s legislative liaison so I can communicate with our local and state legislators.

Finally, I will be committed and dedicated 110% in order to provide a safe environment, balanced budget and high standards for our children.
