Teen-age star Chad Mee held on to the qualifying lead for the 50th annual George A. Obenauer Masters Bowling Championship at AMF Thruway Lanes Wednesday night, shooting 796 for his final four games for a 1,659 total to win the Pete Parisi Trophy. The Frontier High student will be the No. 1 seed for the start of match play tonight.

Pro star Liz Johnson, the 2009 Masters champion, turned in the best four-game set of the night, shooting 862 for a 1,649 and the No. 2 seed.

Mike Bedford of Lockport led the early squad with an 858 and qualified third with 1,606. Adam Collura of Buffalo (1,604) and Mike Zarcone of the Town of Tonawanda (1,602) rounded out the first five. Another teen star, Melanie Hannon of Maryvale, had the best four-game total on Wednesday. She shot 878, giving her an overall 1,540, good for 18th. Another female, Marion Singleton of Lockport, shot 840 for a 1,544 total, good for 14th place.
