The Buffalo News invited school board candidates to provide a statement about why they are running for office.
I am extremely proud to be part of this current board of trustees. As a group we tackled some difficult and important issues. The search process and hiring of a new superintendent and the creation of our capital projects plan was the result of a great deal of work, debate and cooperation. I know that this work will result in tangible benefits for the residents of Grand Island for many years. I believe that it is the trustees’ responsibility to ask the tough questions and to hold our administrators accountable. I know that I have done this and will continue to do this if reelected. I am looking forward to working with our new superintendent. My goal this term is to see the upcoming capital projects through to their completion. These much needed infrastructure improvements will go a long way towards maintaining Grand Island’s tradition of excellence in education, music and sports!
