The Buffalo News invited school board candidates to provide a statement about why they are running for office.
During these tough economic times stability and consistency on the school board is imperative. As a three year veteran I have extensive knowledge and passion to continue my dedicated service. I am an Orchard Park native, mother of two children attending Orchard Park middle school, wife, homeowner, taxpayer, local business owner and retired educator. I have a greater understanding of the community, district, buildings, policy, regulation and school law. This knowledge is obtained by years’ experience as an OP Board Trustee as well as my life experiences and countless hours of volunteer work. It is important to me to uphold open communication & transparency, maintain class sizes and programs, analyze and balance needs and concerns of all parties, monitor care, maintenance, safety and security of facilities, negotiate fair and equitable contracts, encourage long range planning and technology. I am seeking re-election to the Orchard Park school board to continue my dedicated service. I will responsibly represent the needs of our students, parents, community, dedicated teachers & staff while maintaining high standards of education. It is important to me to be open-minded, ethical & remain fiscally dedicated to the community. It would be an honor to have your vote! Re-Elect Donna M. Omar (Bonitati) – 6A on the ballot!
