The Buffalo News invited school board candidates to provide a statement about why they are running for office.

My wife and I have lived in Clarence for the past six years. We moved here for the quality education, rigorous academic standards and superior extracurricular programs. Our two children are both enrolled in Clarence schools and have benefited tremendously from what our community has to offer. As a member of the Board of Education, I will work tirelessly to ensure that quality education remains a focal point of our district. We must work together as a community to create a climate and culture of collaboration that ensures both high standards of education and fiscal responsibility.

There is no doubt, Clarence School District faces the difficult challenge that all local school districts face: balancing quality education with limited revenue. As we move forward through the next several budget cycles, we must embrace these challenges by being creative with our solutions. We need to look for different sources of revenue and engage our State Representatives to help maintain a balanced budget.

I have earned my BS in IT and currently serve as Sr. Manager at VMware. I work directly with businesses to help IT save money through innovation. As a young adult, I served for 3 years as a volunteer firefighter, and have coached travel baseball and little league football in Clarence. I currently serve on the Clarence Football Boosters.

I would appreciate your support in this election. I will work hard to ensure that the quality education our students deserve remains at the forefront of our discussions, but ensuring that we take our financial responsibility to this community seriously. The students are depending on us to maintain the outstanding schools, which made this community great.
