With allocations ranging from $625 to $16,000, the Town Board last week approved funding for cultural and not-for-profit organizations.

Organizations and the amount of money they will receive from the 2013 budget, in descending order, are: Cheektowaga Community Symphony Orchestra, $16,000; Cheektowaga Community Chorus, $12,000; Cheektowaga Historical Association, $2,050; Arts Society of Cheektowaga, $1,200; Friends of the Woods, $800; and Cheektowaga Garden Club, $625.

• A Town Board work session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council office on the second floor of Town Hall, 3301 Broadway.

• Polish-American Historian Gregory Witul will talk about stained glass church windows in Western New York at Thursday’s meeting of the Cheektowaga Historical Association. The event, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Cheektowaga Senior Center, 3349 Broadway, is free and open to the public.

• The F.J. Donovan American Legion Post, 3210 Genesee St., is hosting Buffalo Championship Wrestling on Saturday night. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and bell time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for front row, reserved VIP admission; $10 for general admission; and $5 for children age 12 and younger. • The community is invited to the Cheektowaga Central School District’s Day of Science, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the high school campus at 3600 Union Road. Demonstrations and student competitions are among the activities, and there also will be a sale of student-made items. Admission is free.
