A public hearing is scheduled for Monday night on the proposed 2013-14 budget for the West Seneca School District.
The session begins at 6:30 p.m. in the second-floor board room at West Elementary, 1397 Orchard Park Road. A regular School Board meeting follows.
Spending is down in the proposal, which totals roughly $106.82 million. Included in that amount is almost $3.27 million related to the compensation of employees slated to retire by Aug. 31.
The property tax rate would increase by 2.51 percent in each of the four towns comprising the district.

• The Town Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 1250 Union Road.
• A Meet the Candidates night begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for the eight people vying for seats on the West Seneca School Board. Presented by the West Seneca Central School District Parent Council, the forum will be held in the board room at West Elementary School, 1397 Orchard Park Road.
• An informational program on “Avoiding Probate” is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the library at the senior center, 4620 Seneca St.
• Registration for swimming lessons, levels one through six, will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kiwanis Youth Center, 50 Legion Parkway. The cost is $30 for residents, who must have a valid town ID card, and $40 for non-residents. Only cash or checks, made payable to Town of West Seneca, will be accepted.
