Exhibits, lectures, music and a boat launch are planned during Stars Along Scajaquada, an event commemorating War of 1812 activities along Scajaquada Creek, from 6 to 9 p.m. May 18 at the foot of Peter Street off Amherst Street near Assumption Catholic Church.

Sponsored by the Historic Preservation Committee of the Black Rock-Riverside Good Neighbor Planning Alliance, it’s free and open to the public.

Historians will lecture at 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m.

There also will be a small-boat launch into the creek from the Buffalo Maritime Center, lighted stars hanging from the trees along the creek, a blacksmithing demonstration, horse and buggy rides, War of 1812 re-enactors and music of the era from the Irish Volunteers Music Group.
