A judge, the sheriff and the county’s pistol permit administrator will be honored when the Judges and Police Conference of Erie County holds its 2013 awards dinner next Thursday in Kloc’s Banquet Hall, 1245 Seneca Creek Road, West Seneca.

The conference will name State Supreme Court Justice Kevin Dillon its jurist of the year; Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard its law enforcement officer of the year; and Will Fowler, administrator of the Erie County pistol permit office, its outstanding citizen of the year.

The conference also will award $800 scholarships to three students majoring in criminal justice: Melanie Miller, Erie Community College; Hayley C. Ploetz, Hilbert College; and Davonna Howard, Hilbert College.
