Douglas R. Potter, an Orchard Park High School graduate and former East Aurora resident, died Sunday in Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, after a long illness. He was 46.
Mr. Potter grew up in East Aurora and then moved to Orchard Park, where he graduated from high school in 1985. He attended the University of Kentucky and remained a Wildcats fan.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and had lived in Falmouth, Maine, for about 10 years.
Mr. Potter was employed at several firms, performing accounting, inventory control and purchasing duties, before he became ill about a year ago.
He enjoyed golfing and skiing, and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres and Toronto Blue Jays.
Survivors include his parents, Jean and Roy; a brother, Michael; and two sisters, Lori and Debra Carrig.
A memorial burial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue, East Aurora.
