The New York Association of Convenience Stores elected Michael Newman, executive vice president of Noco Express, to the New York Convenience Store Hall of Fame. He and his brother, James, are the third generation of the Newman family to operate Town of Tonawanda-based Noco Energy Corp., which distributes petroleum and operates 40 Noco Express convenience stores in Western New York. He has served on the association’s retail board since 2004 and was elected chairman in May 2010.


The Buffalo Broadcasters Association honored Eileen Buckley with the Pinnacle Award at the Buffalo Excellence in Media Awards recently in Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. Buckley is assistant news director at WBFO-FM and a Medaille College graduate. The award honors an individual who has exhibited outstanding performance over a career span of 16 years or more in the radio or television market in Buffalo.


Sonwil Distribution Center President Peter Wilson recently addressed the International Warehouse Logistics Association Food Security Council. He presented a review of the regulatory environment and emphasized the responsibility of supply chain partners to participate in the solution. He is council chairman.
