Dhane Smith of the Buffalo Bandits has been named to the National Lacrosse League’s All-Rookie team for 2013.
Smith scored 24 goals this past season, which led the team and was tied for third among NLL rookies. His 44 points was fifth among rookies.
Smith was the only player from the East Divison to receive rookie honors. The other six players picked were from the West. One of them was Joe Resetarits (Hamburg), who had eight goals and 16 assists for the the Calgary Roughnecks.
The rest of the All-Rookie team consisted of Joey Cupido of Colorado, Curtis Knight and Mark Matthews of Edmonton, and Shayne Jackson and Kiel Matisz of Minnesota.
The NLL championship game, matching the Rochester Knighthawks and Washington Stealth, will be played on Saturday night.
