The University at Buffalo baseball team was unable to complete a sweep of visiting Ohio University, dropping the last of a three-game series Sunday afternoon, 4-3, and ending its run of seven straight Mid-American Conference victories.

The Bobcats (12-33, 7-14 MAC) took leads of 2-0 and 3-2 before UB (26-18, 15-5 MAC) tied the game in the bottom of the eighth.

Thomas Richards led the way for the Bulls, going 3 for 4 with a game-tying RBI single in the eighth inning.

Ohio went ahead on a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth. UB went down in order in the bottom of the inning.

UB maintained its 1½-game lead over Kent State and Northern Illinois for the overall conference lead, as the Flashes and Huskies lost to Central Michigan and Toledo, respectively.

Next up for UB is a Tuesday doubleheader at Niagara starting at 3 p.m.
