A citizen’s request to amend municipal code to allow the raising of chickens in Lackawanna is among the agenda items members of the City Council will consider during their meeting Monday in Council chambers of City Hall, 714 Ridge Road.
The meeting begins with a work session at 6:30 p.m.

• The Lackawanna City School District will host a budget presentation and public hearing on the proposed 2013-14 school budget at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of Martin Road Elementary School, 135 Martin Road.
The $47.5 million budget, adopted April 22 by the school board, is a 4.89 percent increase over the current budget of $45.3 million.
The budget eliminates 9 full-time teaching positions and reduces 3 full-time teachers to part time.
Rather than increase property taxes, district officials said they will use a $1.6 million hike in state financial aid and dip into the district’s surplus fund to offset growing health care costs and contracted pay raises.
