TORONTO — It took only a weekend for the Rochester Americans to have their backs placed against the proverbial wall in the AHL.

The Amerks dropped a 2-0 decision to the Marlies at Ricoh Arena on Sunday afternoon. That gave Toronto a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. The Marlies won game won Saturday afternoon, 6-3.

Ex-Rochester goalie Drew MacIntyre had the shutout for Toronto, stopping 25 shots. Jerry D’Amigo led the Marlies with a goal and an assist.

The series now shifts to Rochester, which will host Game Three on Wednesday night at the Blue Cross Arena.
