Money has been raised; time to install crosswalks

This past June, our community lost a beautiful young girl to an accident that could have been prevented. Erin Suszynski was struck crossing Maple Road in Amherst and later succumbed to her injuries.

A fundraiser was held for Erin’s Crossings in October for the purpose of installing crosswalks at our local playgrounds. The money has been raised, but now our local politicians have to take the next step and help to get these critical lights up. This is by far the best contribution I have ever given, and I know that the thousands of people in attendance feel the same. The efforts of so many people should not go to waste. It’s time we see the reality of these crosswalks in our community. Our local politicians hold the key to getting this done. May we always remember the young girl who brought this community together, Erin Suszynski.
