We need to set strict limits on campaign contributions

Denise Jewell Gee’s recent column, “Time to curb campaign contributions,” was right on the mark. It is outrageous that our government representatives are not only taking what amounts to bribes, but they are also using our state money apparently without accountability. Gee’s article is frightening in its account of current misappropriations.

It is time for serious work by our representatives to put immediate and severe restraints on the way campaign contributions are accepted and publicly accounted for. This should be one of the major issues of every one of our representatives. Confront them one by one: Where do they stand on this issue? Make it public.
