Niagara University will announce its new men’s basketball coach at a 2 p.m. news conference Monday in the Taps Gallagher Center.

Several published reports say the new coach is Chris Casey, who led Division II LIU C.W. Post to a 62-25 record the past three seasons. Casey also was an assistant coach at St. John’s for four seasons.

Casey, 49, is a 1986 graduate of Western Connecticut State University, where he was basketball captain for two years.

The new coach replaces Joe Mihalich, who left for the head job at Hofstra.
