Donald Georger of Akron, former owner of the Colonial Collision shop in Amherst, died Monday in Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home. He was 86.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of Amherst High School. He served in the Army with the military police after World War II.
Mr. Georger operated his own auto body shop at various locations in Amherst for about 50 years, retiring in 1993.
He also was a motorcycle and racing enthusiast. He served as president of CAN/AM Club, which raced three-quarter midget cars at Lancaster Speedway.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Kathryn Naegely; three daughters, Cindy Hastrich, Christina Boyce and Carolyn Carey; and a sister, Bernice Sticht.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Love Joy Nondenominational, Pentecostal Church, 5423 Genesee St., Lancaster.
