A fundraiser called “Relay for Life” will be held at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs on Friday, an organizer for the event said.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. in the high school gym, and run until 4 a.m. the next morning.
It will include continuous walking of the track at the school, in commemoration of the ongoing nature of the effort to combat cancer, combined with games, contests and fun activities, an organizer for the event said.
The fundraiser will benefit the American Cancer Society, an organizer said.
This is the first time the Hamburg high school is doing a “Relay for Life” event, planners said.
