After a setback to the overall capital project, the Tonawanda Board of Education approved several new bids this week for its $11.9 plan for a new football stadium and renovations at Tonawanda High/Middle School.
The board approved the bids of Sicoli Construction of Niagara Falls for general construction for $1 million; MKS Plumbing of West Seneca for plumbing construction at $77,250; and Ferguson Electric of Buffalo for mechanical work at $176,800 and electrical work for $692,400.
Portions of the capital project were delayed this year when some of the original bids for construction came back with higher costs than initially anticipated.
“We’re scheduled to be on track and on time with the stadium,” Stephen Perry, the district business administrator, said of the project. The new stadium is expected to be ready by the fall.
