A breakout performance for two goals and two assists in last Saturday’s 15-10 win over the Washington Stealth earned National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week honors for Buffalo Bandits transition player Jordan Critch.

Critch, 22, from Orangeville, Ont., entered the week with one goal and no assists in three career games before his performance in a game the Bandits needed to win to keep their NLL playoff hopes alive.

He was Buffalo’s second selection, 16th overall, in the 2012 NLL Entry Draft.

The weekly player award winners are selected by a vote of the league’s general managers and head coaches.

The Bandits will return to First Niagara Center on Saturday for their regular season finale against the Rochester Knighthawks. The winner will clinch a playoff spot.
