Ken White of Elma won silver and bronze medals in doubles as a member of the United States team at the International Senior World Individual 50-Over Tennis Championships at Antayla, Turkey.
White won the Silver Medal in the Mixed Doubles with partner Mary Dailey of DelRay, Ca. They lost to Chris Hearn of Great Britain and Brenda Foster of Australia, 6-4, 2-6, 10-8, in the final.
In the Men’s Doubles, White and Paul Smith of Kansas City, finished third to win the Bronze Medal, losing to Chris Hearn of Great Britain and Jacques Hearn of France, 7-5, 4-6, 10-8, in the semifinals.
Earlier, White and Smith defeated the No. 2 seeded team, Italy’s Claudio Cataldiana and Alessio Frontespezop, 6-0, 6-1, and then the Czech doubles team of Jiri John and Milan Hunger, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Italy won the team competition and the United States finished seventh out of 36 teams competing from throughout the world from March 22 to 29.
