The Village Board on Monday will discuss a tentative 2013-14 budget that raises the property tax rate by 3.87 percent.
The $7.5 million budget raises spending by $302,066, or 4.2 percent, over the 2012-13 budget.
The tax levy, which is the total amount to be collected in property taxes, would rise by 3.18 percent. This increase exceeds a tax-levy limit set by the state, so the board has scheduled a vote for 7:15 p.m. Monday to override this state cap.
Under the tentative budget, the owner of a property assessed at $150,000 would pay $1,517.18 in village property taxes next year, an increase of $56.51 over the current budget.
The tentative budget includes no raises for the mayor, the four trustees or the village justice.
The public hearing on the budget will begin at 7:30 p.m., with the board meeting starting at 7 and a work session at 6, all taking place in the Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway.
The board is expected to continue to work on the fiscal plan following Monday’s public hearing, and members must approve the budget by the end of the month.

•The Erie County Public Works Department notified the town that a temporary lane restriction at Harris Hill Road and Wehrle Drive, which began last Wednesday, is expected to continue through Aug. 31. The county is redoing the intersection, which is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction.
Also, a portion of Ransom Road between Westwood Road and Walden Avenue will be closed this Monday through Saturday while a county crew works on a railroad crossing there.
•The village Historic Preservation Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Municipal Building.
•The School Board will hold a budget work session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room of the former Central Avenue Elementary School, 149 Central Ave.
District officials last month unveiled a draft 2013-14 budget that would raise spending by 5 percent, or $4.5 million, over the current $91.5 million budget. They have spent the past month working to close a $2.4 million budget shortfall while avoiding a hefty tax increase.
The state formula would allow the district to raise the property tax levy by 5.99 percent without exceeding the cap, but School Board members want to limit any such tax increase.
•The town Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 8 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall, 21 Central Ave., to consider two requests for variances from the town code, one for a new fence and one for a garage addition.
