An Olean radiologist has been fined $1,000 for being unable to provide the medical records of patients he saw during a five-day medical marijuana event held in February and March of 2010 in Helena, Mont.
Dr. Ross Horsley reached an agreement with the Montana Board of Medical Examiners and was fined $11,000, but $10,000 of it is stayed if he provides 100 hours of tele-radiology services to low-income patients in Montana.
The board found Horsley was unable to retrieve the records of patients he saw.
The board obtained them from the Montana Caregivers Network and reviewed them, finding several deficiencies.
The settlement, reached March 15, dealt only with his inability to produce the records.
Horsley said Thursday he did not know he needed to maintain the records.
