Jeff White a junior right-hander, pitched a no-hit game for Kenmore East over Bishop Grimes of East Syracuse in the Mingo Bay Classic baseball tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. White struck out five and walked two.

“He had all his pitches working and was getting lots of ground balls,” said Kenmore East coach Les Simon. “It’s the first no-hitter in my 13 years. Coming on a Southern trip makes the accomplishment for Jeff and our team so special.”

Preston Smith drove in the first run for the Bulldogs with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. The other crossed on an infield hit by Tyler Gibson in the sixth. Kenmore East had five hits.

The Bulldogs (1-1) will face T.L. Hanna High of Anderson, S.C., today at 11 a.m.
