Since 1982, Lebro’s (330 Campbell Blvd., Getzville, 688-0404) has been turning out ravioli and its other house-made pasta specialties in a converted house in what owner Lee Federiconi calls “beautiful downtown Getzville.”

That’s three decades, a long time in restaurant years. “The community has been very good to me – it’s been a great run, and it’s not over yet,” said Federiconi. That’s why he gets involved with charities like Dining Out for Life, the AIDS fundraiser set for Tuesday.

Nearly 100 restaurants across Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties will donate 25 percent or more of their food take that day to Evergreen Community Services, formerly known as AIDS Community Services. It’s part of a national Dining Out for Life event whose Western New York edition has raised more than $700,000 in its first 10 years.

First-time participants include Seneca Niagara Casino’s La Cascata, Seneca Allegany Casino’s Patria, Rizotto Ristorante, Coco, Andriaccio’s in Mayville and Harbor Grill in Celoron.

Lebro’s is among a small handful that have been involved since the beginning. “That’s because it’s a good cause, and an international issue today,” Federiconi said. “If we can contribute somewhat on an international issue, a little corner place called Lebro’s in the middle of Getzville, how good does that make you feel?”
