Niagara goaltender Carsen Chubak was named Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week after finishing the season with a solid showing in the 2-1 loss to North Dakota in the NCAA West Regional semifinal last Friday. He made 41 saves in the loss.

A finalist for the 2013 Hobey Baker Award, Chubak finished with a 23-7-5 record for the season. He ranked seventh in the nation in goals-agaiinst (1.91) and fourth in save percentage (.939) and tied for first in shutouts with six.

Chubak put his name in Niagara’s record book with season records in a variety of categories, including second in shutouts (6), games (35), saves (1,028 and minutes played (2100:46).

Atlantic Hockey also honored two Canisius players. Junior Patrick Sullivan was named Player of the Week after he scored a goal and added an assist in the NCAA East Regional semifinal loss to Quinnipiac. He finished the season with 8 goals, 14 assists for 22 points. Freshman Ralph Cuddemi was honored as Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. He set up a goal by defenseman Stephen Farrell against Quinnipiac.
