Shirley A. Foser of West Seneca, a longtime educator, died Monday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. She was 63.
Born Shirley Maze in Buffalo, she was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Cheektowaga.
She also was a summa cum laude graduate of Buffalo State College, where she earned both bachelor and master of science degrees in education.
Mrs. Foser taught math at several schools, including Hamburg High School, Elmwood Franklin Elementary School and Buffalo Seminary preparatory school. She was most recently employed at Erie Community College.
She was an executive officer of Marriage Encounter of Western New York and Ours Through Adoption of Western New York. She was a member of New York State United Teachers. She also performed one-to-one Pre Cana counseling at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in West Seneca.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald J.; a daughter, Jacqueline S.; and a son, Brian J.
A service will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5271 Clinton St., Elma.
