All 1,789 of Emily Dickinson’s poems will be read aloud in a 14-hour marathon to celebrate National Poetry Month on April 13 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave.
Organized by the University at Buffalo English Department, with Just Buffalo Literary Center and volunteers from the community, the marathon will begin at 8 a.m. with readings by Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, former Buffalo Mayor Anthony M. Masiello, UB President Satish K. Tripathi and UB theater professor and actor Stephen McKinley Henderson.
The reading is free and open to the public. Anyone is welcome to come and read. No preregistration is required. Participants will take turns reading the poems in the order they are published in the 1999 edition of “The Poems of Emily Dickinson,” edited by Ralph W. Franklin.
