Four local agencies will receive a total of more than $20,000 from BJ’s Charitable Foundation for their efforts to promote education, health care and self-sufficiency. The recipients include:

• Charter School for Applied Technologies, Buffalo, $5,000 to purchase materials for its Financial Literacy Program for youngsters in kindergarten through 12th grade.

• Boys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo, $7,500 to purchase additional educational supplies for the Bridging the Gap Program.

• Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Buffalo, $5,000 for food and supplies for its dining room and food pantry programs.

• Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center, $3,000 to provide hearing tests for needy people through its Mobile Screening Program.
