NIAGARA FALLS – The economic development point man in Niagara Falls has been given a top award from the state’s development agency.

Christopher J. Schoepflin, president of the USA Niagara Development Corp., received the Douglas B. Schelleng Outstanding Personal Service Award for 2012, the agency said Monday.

Schoepflin, who was selected from among 440 employees throughout the state, has led the development of the city’s downtown conference center, its new culinary institute and Old Falls Street, the pedestrian thoroughfare that serves as the economic “spine” of downtown. Schoepflin has worked at the agency since 2005.
