Amherst Garden Club members will hold an installation luncheon Wednesday in Brookfield Country Club.
Judges Council of 8th District of Federated Garden Clubs of New York State will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday in Brighton Community Church, 1225 Brighton Road at Parkhurst Boulevard, Town of Tonawanda. The business meeting will include handbook updates from the “National Gardener” and a discussion of the 2013 budget. Nancy Schopf, an NGC master judge from 7th District, will be a guest speaker. Carolyn Schaffner will present a program on growing and judging hostas. The horticulture exhibit will include container-grown plants, forced flowering branches and cut specimens of flowering bulbs and perennials. The designs exhibited will be creative ones using only foliage as the plant material.
