The Buffalo Junior Sabres beat the North York Rangers, 2-1, on Wednesday to stay alive in their best-of-seven series in the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs.

Michael Ederer scored the game-winner 8:54 into the third period on an assist from Nolan Sheeran. On the other end, goaltender Parker Gahagen stopped 37 of 38 shots for the Junior Sabres, who trail in the series, 3-2.

Taylor Pryce gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead after the first period when he scored at the 18:31 mark. Tyler Gjurich answered for Buffalo on assists from Alex Dagnal and Ryan Schmelzer to tie the game 1-1 after two.

The series continues on Friday at North York at 7 p.m.
