LOCKPORT – Mayor Michael W. Tucker said bids for demolition of the closed downtown parking ramp are due April 5, a few weeks behind the original schedule.

Tucker said the delay was caused by New York State Electric & Gas Corp., which needed time to remove electrical equipment from the ramp.

Demolition is to begin in late April, the mayor said, with the hope of completing it by early July.

The city is planning to install a surface parking lot on the site at Main and Pine streets.
