Niagara was ranked No. 14 for the second week in a row in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll that was announced on Monday. In addition, the Purple Eagles remain No. 15 in the NCAA Division I poll.

NU received 78 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Poll, making this the sixth time the Purple Eagles have been ranked on the top-15 poll this season, the most since 1999-00 season when that team was ranked for nine weeks. The poll saw the Purple Eagles receive a season-high 339 points to remain on the poll for the 16th consecutive week. The NCAA Tournament PairWise Comparison Ratings, which helps determine the NCAA field of 16, has Niagara up four spots to ninth, tied with Notre Dame and Minnesota State.

Niagara puts its rankings on the line on Friday against Canisius in the semifinals of the Atlantic Hockey Association playoffs at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with Connecticut and Mercyhurst meeting in the other semi at 7 p.m.
