True Catholics know tradition must be kept

I am not shocked that there are two opposing viewpoints in regard to how the new pope should lead the Catholic faith in the 21st century. Times are a changing, so why shouldn’t the new pope keep up with the times, break a 2,000-year-old tradition, and abandon the ethics and morals of the Church? It makes so much sense, right? No. Not if you’re a strong Catholic.

The whole purpose of the Catholic Church is to provide its followers with a solid foundation. The pope’s duty is to be the strong, solid leader to guide us on the right path. I’m a 19-year-old student, and despite how most of my generation would like to see change, especially in the traditional beliefs about contraception, women becoming priests and male priests being married, I believe that would completely undermine all the church’s teachings. Kids are going to do whatever they want, regardless of how the new pope decides to lead the church. If they’re true Catholics, they would understand why the tradition should be kept. The Catholic faith isn’t sensitive to popularity.
