Buffalo Crows
By Kastle Brill
Feed the crows
who stay with us each winter
who gather every evening
to fill the empty trees
with dark companions
in cemetery flocks
roosting in Forest Lawn
many-citied home
of the dead and living
black birds in sky-rivers
a four thirty flow
November civil twilight
low sky and low birds
above diagonal L’Enfant
& Olmsted Streets
Please
feed the crows
who welcome spring
with dark abandon
Please feed the crows
