The Buffalo Junior Sabres are pretty much in a must-win situation entering Saturday night’s Game Three of their second round Ontario Junior Hockey League playoff series at Buffalo State Ice Arena at 7.
Buffalo dropped Game Two of its best-of-seven series with North York on Friday, 4-2, as the Rangers’ John Carpino and Zachary Fung scored in a 24-second span midway through the second period to break a 1-1 tie.
North York, which received a goal and an assist from Corey Kalk, leads the series, 2-0.
Pat Egan scored both goals for the Junior Sabres, who held a 33-31 edge in shots. The 33 shots were nearly double the total (17) they fired during a 5-1 Game One loss on Wednesday, the team’s first game after a nine-day layoff.
