Nation can’t put a price on biomedical research
A recent Buffalo News column by Froma Harrop asked, “Is the sequester that awful?” I’ll respond with a hypothetical situation. You are in a hospital room with a loved one after months of radiation and chemotherapy for her cancer. Her oncologist walks into the room, says, “There is nothing more I can do for you” and then immediately walks out of the room.
My question for Harrop is: “Is the sequester that awful to slash (already at historically low levels) funding for biomedical research?”
P.S.: This is not a hypothetical situation for me.
