Edna Bell Black, who once served as a missionary, died Thursday at her home in Buffalo. She was 85.
Born in Steele, Ala., she moved to Buffalo when she was 16 years old.
Mrs. Black worked as a housekeeper and had various other jobs over the years.
She also served as a missionary with the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society of St. Luke AME Zion Church.
She also was a choir member and kitchen staff member at the church.
She is survived by seven sons, Albert, Alan, Herbert, Rodney Bigham, Reginald Bigham, Vance McDaniel and Terrence McDaniel, and three daughters, Alicia Jones, Alana Marshall and Shawna McDaniel.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Luke AME Zion Church, 314 E. Ferry St.
