CentriLogic, which operates an Internet hosting and data center in downtown Buffalo, has acquired a Canadian competitor, The Capris Group, in a deal that the Toronto-based company said will allow it to push into a new buisness of providing application and platform management services.

The deal, announced Monday, will add Capris Group’s 15,000-square-foot data center and disaster recovery center in Mississauga, Ont., to its base of facilities. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition is not expected to have any direct impact on CentriLogic’s Buffalo data center. “Our Buffalo data center will now be able to accommodate The Capris Group’s existing customers that require a presence in Buffalo or in the United States, or who are seeking a secondary data center for backup, storage and disaster recovery capabilities,” said Robert Offley, CentriLogic’s president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
